Roy W. Freeman Jr.

Roy W. Freeman Jr. is Executive Chairman of Flamsal Holdings LLC, having founded the company in February 2024. He brings tremendous experience, a diverse range of knowledge, perspective, visionary thinking, and a commitment to excellence to guide daily operations and drive long-term value to the Company.

In April 2019, Mr. Freeman founded Dixy Co. LLC, which would later become Flamsal Group LLC, now a subsidiary of Flamsal Holdings. He created the brand Flamsal from a mixup of the state abbreviations of Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama (FL-LA-MS-AL). Flamsal is a trademark of Flamsal Enterprises LLC, registered in Mississippi since May 1, 2023.

Mr. Freeman hails from and is retired from the renowned U.S. Army. During his military tenure, he served two tours in the Triangle of Death region of Iraq (2004-2006 and 2009-2010). Mr. Freeman was assigned a Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS-SCI) security clearance for five years of his military service. He is the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, four Army Achievement Medals, Iraq Campaign Medal with three bronze campaign stars, the coveted Combat Medical Badge, and many other military awards and decorations. His units were awarded the Navy Unit Commendation (while assigned to the II Marine Expeditionary Force, 2017 AHRC-PDP-A MEMO, dated 14 November 2017) and Army Meritorious Unit Commendation (2020 PO 191-0007) for their actions in Iraq. Mr. Freeman honorably retired as a staff sergeant in May 2018.

Mr. Freeman manages his philanthropy through Flamsal Philanthropies, of which he is the Executive Director. Flamsal Philanthropies works to ensure better lives for people by focusing on five key areas: the arts and culture, education, the environment and animals, health and human services, and international.

He is the former Chairman (2022) and a current Director (2024) of Petal Band Boosters Inc. (EIN: 37-1714476). Mr. Freeman secured the public charity’s 501(c)(3) tax-exemption determination from the Internal Revenue Service, and serves as its registered agent. In 2022, while serving as Chairman of Petal Band Boosters, he played an instrumental role in raising over $60,000 in a single day.

Mr. Freeman is also the Head of Trading and Investments at Flamsal Global, managing principal, indirect investments in over 9,000 companies worldwide. Flamsal Global engages in a broad range of trading and investment activities with flexibility to trade and invest in a wide variety of asset classes.

He is a Mississippi notary public, ServSafe Manager Certified (23031635), and an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 3.

Mr. Freeman is a graduate of West Lincoln Attendance Center (Brookhaven, Mississippi, 2003), US Army Basic Combat Training (2003), US Army Combat Medic School (2004), US Army Information Technology Specialist School (2009), US Army Warrior Leadership Course/Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (2010), US Army Petroleum Supply Specialist School (2011), and Jones College EMT School (2021).

Mr. Freeman is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in General Business and Master of Arts in Management (Global Business) at the University of Alabama and a Juris Doctor from Purdue Global Law School. He also attends ongoing and various courses provided by Chicago Booth Executive Education, Kellogg Executive Education, Wharton Executive Education, MIT Sloan Executive Education, Harvard Business School Online and Harvard Business School Executive Education, Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Education, Michigan Ross Executive Education, Yale School of Management Executive Education, NYU Stern Executive Education, Columbia Business School Executive Education, edX, GetSmarter, and Great Learning.

Mr. Freeman lives at Chateau Freeman in Petal, Mississippi, with his wife, Ashley, and sons.
